dc.description.abstractThe Extracatble organic matter of seven outcrop sample of Amman Formation Oil Shale have been analysed by Gas Chromatography (GC) . the bitumen is rich in heterocompounds contents (>60wt%). as chromatograms show a predominance of isoprenoids , specially phatane over n-alkanes and low carbon preference index (CPI) . this indicates that the organic matter is immature and its origin is mainly of marine organisms . these rocks could be possible source rocks due to the high content of hdrocarbon.-
