Abstract: Fluvial sediments of the early cambrian were desposite onto denudated and almost peneplained basement surface of Jordan . these are the Salib Formation which is made of basal conglomerate and arkosic sanstone. this is followed by tidal flat and lagoonal carbonate rocks ( Burj Formation). petrographical and microfacial study of the Burj limestone shows that these carbonates are mostly composed of dolomitized oolitic limestone with intercalations of nodular fossiliferous limestone contaning trilobite fragments and hash .
