Abstract: Petrographic modal analysis fro the perdominantly terrigenous clastic sediments compresing th eupper middle cambrain ( Umm Ishrin Formation ) , Permian ( Umm Irna Formation ) and the lower traissic ( Ma'in Formation ) from the notheastern margin of the dea sea basin. indicates that their average composition for the Umm Ishrin sandstone falls in the sublitherentine (45%) lithernite (22%) , quartine (11%) .
