Abstract: This empirical study aims to examine the link between money and economic activity in Jordan over a 20-year period 1967 -1986. The time period chosen by the study encompasses two typical sub periods : 1967-1975 a period of increased uncertainty and 1976-1986 a period of favorable economic conditions . Empirical results confirmed the volatility of the M1 and M2 velocities over this 20-year period . The apparent volatility of the velocities suggest that the link between money and economic activity has been weak and insignificant
