Abstract: Eighteen healthy female were studied to assess the effect of 15 weeks of resistance training on their blood serum concentration of cholestrol trigycerides hemoglobin and packed cell volume (P.C.V. Resistance training consisted of one set of 8-12 repetitions on universal gym equipment and free weights three times per week . significant altrations occurred in all paameters measured p> 0.001 the mean value for cholestrol level and triglycerides were decreased by 18.3 and 14.4 respectively . hemoglobin and P.C.V werw increased by 0.4 and 1.6 respectively . it was concluded that such exercise program can yield a reduction in overall risk factores for coronary heart disease CHD >
