Measures for average of current and past inflation rate , using qequal and geometrically deciling weights . the relationship between the average rate of inflation and the output -inflation trade-off is found to be insignificant , while t5he relationship between the variability of inflation and the output-inflation trade-off is found to be significant and negative of inflation and the output-inflation trade-off is found to be significant and negative. these results are consistent with the new keynesian tesis that the variability of inflation has a negative inmapct on that trade-off.
