Abstract: This study has employed hsiano of causality , which is combination of Granger test and the Akaike's final prediction -error (FPE) certerion to test for the relative effectivess of monetary and fiscal policies in jordan . for the period between 1969-1994 the result suggest a unidirectionla causality from monetaryt variables measured by M1 and monetaryt base of GNP . the result also suggest a bidirecal causality from fiscal policy more effective and faster fiscal policy in its on GNP.
